OUR STORY

The Hideout Arena wasn't created by a large corporation, national venue group or commercial developer. It was built through determination, hard work and a shared vision between two local businessmen, Phil and Dane, who believed Farnworth, the wider Bolton, and Greater Manchester deserved something different.

When they first stepped inside the building, it was little more than a derelict industrial warehouse in the heart of Farnworth. Empty, neglected and largely forgotten, the building had seen better days. Most people would have viewed it as an impossible challenge and walked away. Instead, Phil and Dane saw potential. Beyond the immense leaks, damaged walls and years of neglect, they saw an opportunity to create something unique for the local community.

What started as an ambitious idea quickly became a labour of love. Their vision wasn't simply to renovate a building. They wanted to create a destination that would bring people together, support local businesses, provide opportunities for athletes and organisations, and give Bolton a venue capable of hosting events that previously may have looked elsewhere.

The journey was far from straightforward. Years of planning, investment and hard work followed. Every stage of the project presented new challenges, from redesigning internal spaces and upgrading infrastructure to creating facilities capable of hosting a wide range of events. Progress was often achieved through long days, late nights and an unwavering belief that the end result would be worth the effort.

Much of the early work was carried out by Phil and Dane themselves. While many visitors today see a professional venue with bars, hospitality areas, conference facilities and a modern event arena, few realise just how much work went into creating it. Every room, every wall and every event space has been transformed through years of commitment and determination.

As the project evolved, so did the vision behind it. The goal was never simply to create another function room or conference facility. Instead, The Hideout Arena was designed to be a truly flexible venue capable of adapting to the needs of different organisers, businesses, sports promoters and community groups. The ability to host multiple types of events under one roof quickly became one of its defining features.

Over time, the warehouse began its transformation into The Hideout Arena visitors see today. Empty industrial spaces became hospitality areas. Forgotten rooms became conference facilities. Large open areas became event spaces capable of hosting up to 1,000 guests. Modern lighting, professional sound systems, licensed bars and event infrastructure were introduced, helping create an environment that could support everything from sporting events and exhibitions to conferences and private celebrations.

Today, The Hideout Arena hosts a diverse range of events throughout the year. Professional, amateur and unlicenced boxing, MMA, muay thai, kickboxing, and bare knuckle events have helped establish the venue as a recognised destination within the combat sports community. Alongside these events, the venue has welcomed conferences, exhibitions, networking events, live entertainment, charity fundraisers, community gatherings, weddings, private functions and family celebrations.

The Hideout Arena has also welcomed a number of recognised sporting personalities, celebrities and special guests over the years, helping to further strengthen its reputation throughout Bolton, Greater Manchester and beyond. Every event hosted at The Hideout Arena contributes another chapter to the story and helps reinforce the vision that inspired the project from the very beginning.

What makes The Hideout Arena special is not simply the building itself, but the people who use it. Tens of thousands of visitors pass through the doors each year to celebrate, compete, learn, network, fundraise and create memories. Every successful event represents another example of the venue fulfilling its original purpose: bringing people together.

The Hideout Arena has become much more than a venue. It has become a place where local businesses connect, where athletes showcase their talents, where communities gather and where organisations can create memorable experiences. The flexibility of the venue allows it to serve a wide variety of audiences while maintaining the welcoming atmosphere that has become synonymous with the brand.

Today, The Hideout Arena welcomes more than 100,000 visitors every year and has established itself as one of Greater Manchester's most unique event destinations. While the venue has changed dramatically since those early days, the original vision remains exactly the same: to create a place that Bolton can be proud of.

As we continue to invest in the venue, improve our facilities and expand the events we host, we remain committed to the principles that started it all. Hard work, ambition, community and a belief that great things can be achieved when people are willing to see potential where others see obstacles.

The story of The Hideout Arena is still being written. Every event, every visitor and every new development adds another chapter to a journey that began with two local businessmen, a derelict warehouse and a vision to create something extraordinary.

More Than Just Events

The Hideout Arena was never intended to be just another venue. From the very beginning, the vision was to create a destination that would bring people together, support local businesses, strengthen community connections and provide opportunities for people from all walks of life.

What started as the transformation of a derelict warehouse quickly became something much bigger. The goal was not simply to create a space that could host events, but to create a venue that would have a positive impact on the local area and become a place that people would be proud to visit, work with and support. Every decision made throughout the development of The Hideout Arena was guided by that vision.

Over the years, the venue has become far more than a place where events are held. It has become a meeting place for local communities, a platform for up-and-coming athletes, a venue for businesses to connect and grow, and a space where families, friends and colleagues can come together to create lasting memories.

For some visitors, The Hideout Arena is a place to watch live sport and experience the excitement of a packed fight night. For others, it is a professional setting where businesses can host conferences, exhibitions and networking events. For many families, it is a venue where birthdays, celebrations and special occasions are shared with the people who matter most. The versatility of the venue allows it to mean something different to everyone who walks through its doors.

Whether hosting a championship boxing event, a corporate conference, a charity fundraiser, a networking event, a family celebration or a community project, The Hideout Arena exists to create experiences that leave a lasting impression. Every event contributes to the wider vision of building something that benefits not only visitors and organisers, but also the wider Farnworth and Bolton communities.

Community engagement remains a central part of everything we do. We are proud to work alongside local organisations, charities, sports clubs, schools and community groups, helping to provide a space where ideas can be shared, achievements can be celebrated and important causes can be supported. Many of the events hosted at the venue raise awareness, bring people together or provide opportunities that might not otherwise exist.

The Hideout Arena also plays an important role in supporting local businesses. From suppliers and contractors to exhibitors, sponsors and event organisers, the venue creates opportunities for businesses to connect with new audiences and grow their presence within the local area. By attracting visitors from across Bolton, Greater Manchester and beyond, the venue helps contribute to the wider local economy and supports the growth of surrounding businesses.

We are proud to support local organisations, charities, sports clubs and businesses, providing a flexible venue that can be adapted to meet a wide range of needs. As The Hideout Arena continues to grow, our commitment remains the same: to create a venue that delivers exceptional events while making a positive contribution to the people and communities we serve.

Looking ahead, our ambition extends beyond simply hosting more events. We want The Hideout Arena to continue evolving into a destination that creates opportunities, inspires ambition and strengthens the connections between people, businesses and communities. Every event hosted here becomes part of that journey and helps shape the future of the venue.

More than an arena. More than an event venue. The Hideout Arena is a place where people come together to celebrate, compete, connect and create memories. It is a venue built on community, driven by ambition and dedicated to creating experiences that people remember long after the event has ended.

From Derelict Warehouse To Arena

Every great venue has a story, and The Hideout Arena's story is one of vision, determination and transformation.

What stands today as one of the most unique event venues in Bolton was once a neglected industrial warehouse in the heart of Farnworth. Empty, outdated and largely forgotten, the building offered little indication of what it would eventually become. The roof leaked, the floors were worn, the walls were tired and the space lacked any real identity or purpose. To most people, it was simply an old warehouse that had seen better days.

Where others saw a derelict building, founders Phil and Dane saw something entirely different. They saw potential. They saw an opportunity to create a venue unlike anything else in Greater Manchester. More importantly, they saw an opportunity to create something that would benefit the people, businesses and communities of Bolton for years to come.

One photograph above captures the very beginning of that journey. Standing inside a vast, empty warehouse, it would have been difficult for most people to imagine that the same space would one day host championship boxing events, corporate conferences, exhibitions, weddings, live entertainment and community gatherings attended by thousands of visitors each year.

Armed with a vision and a commitment to creating something special for the local community, Phil and Dane embarked on an ambitious journey to transform the building into a destination venue capable of hosting major sporting events, corporate conferences, exhibitions, weddings, live entertainment and community gatherings.

The transformation was not achieved overnight. Years of planning, investment and hard work were required to turn the vision into reality. Every stage of the project brought new challenges. Infrastructure needed upgrading. Event spaces needed designing. Hospitality facilities needed creating. Modern lighting, sound systems, staging capabilities, bars and customer facilities all needed to be installed. Every improvement brought the venue one step closer to becoming the destination it is today.

Countless hours were spent clearing, rebuilding, renovating and modernising every part of the venue. Much of the work was carried out by Phil and Dane themselves, often working long days and late nights to keep the project moving forward. Progress was measured not in weeks, but in years, as each phase of development gradually transformed the warehouse into a professional events venue.

What makes the transformation even more remarkable is the scale of what was achieved. The building was not simply refurbished; it was completely reimagined. Empty industrial space became a modern event arena. Forgotten rooms became hospitality areas, conference facilities and social spaces. The venue was designed to be flexible, allowing it to adapt to the needs of a wide variety of organisers and events.

Today, visitors arriving at The Hideout Arena experience a venue that bears little resemblance to the warehouse shown in these photographs. The Main Arena, Sports Bar, Conference Rooms, hospitality spaces and event facilities have all been developed with one goal in mind: creating memorable experiences for every guest who walks through the doors.

The Hideout Arena now welcomes more than 100,000 visitors every year and has established itself as one of Greater Manchester's most versatile venues. It has hosted professional boxing events, amateur boxing shows, unlicensed fight nights, corporate conferences, networking events, exhibitions, charity fundraisers, community projects, family celebrations and live entertainment. Each event serves as a reminder of just how far the venue has come.

These images are more than before-and-after photographs. They represent years of hard work, personal sacrifice, investment and belief. They tell the story of two local businessmen who refused to settle for what the building was and instead focused on what it could become.

From warehouse to arena. From an idea to a destination. From a forgotten building to one of Bolton's most exciting event venues.

The transformation of The Hideout Arena stands as proof that with enough vision, determination and commitment, even the most unlikely spaces can be turned into something extraordinary.

Why We Built It

The Hideout Arena was built because we believed Farnworth and the wider Bolton area deserved more.

For too long, businesses, sports promoters, charities and community organisations often had to look outside the area to find venues capable of hosting large-scale events, conferences, exhibitions and entertainment experiences. Whether travelling to Manchester, Liverpool or further afield, many organisers struggled to find a local venue that could provide the flexibility, facilities and atmosphere needed to deliver truly memorable events. We believed that needed to change.

Bolton is a town with a rich sporting history, a strong business community and passionate local people. Yet despite this, there were limited options available for organisations looking to host major events under one roof. We saw an opportunity to create something different. Not just another venue, but a destination that could serve multiple purposes and bring people together through sport, business, entertainment and community engagement.

Our vision was to create a venue that could serve everyone. A place where businesses could host professional conferences, networking events and exhibitions. A place where athletes could compete in front of packed crowds and pursue their ambitions. A place where families could celebrate important milestones, organisations could raise money for good causes and communities could come together to support projects that make a difference.

From the very beginning, we wanted The Hideout Arena to be accessible, adaptable and welcoming. We wanted a venue that could evolve alongside the needs of its users, providing opportunities for businesses, sports promoters, charities and local organisations to achieve their goals. Flexibility became one of the cornerstones of the project and remains one of the venue's greatest strengths today.

We also wanted to create a venue that would have a positive impact beyond the events themselves. By attracting visitors into Farnworth and Bolton, supporting local suppliers and creating opportunities for local businesses, we believed the venue could contribute to the wider local economy while helping showcase everything the area has to offer.

The Hideout Arena was never about building another function room or conference space. It was about creating a flexible, multi-purpose venue capable of hosting everything from championship boxing events and live entertainment to exhibitions, weddings, corporate events and community gatherings. We wanted a venue that could adapt to the needs of different audiences while maintaining a unique identity and atmosphere.

Today, that vision continues to drive everything we do. Every conference, sporting event, exhibition, charity fundraiser, networking event, wedding reception and community gathering hosted at The Hideout Arena represents another step towards achieving the goals that inspired the project in the first place.

Success is not measured solely by visitor numbers or events hosted. It is measured by the memories created, the opportunities provided, the businesses supported and the positive impact made within the local community. Seeing people come together, whether for business, sport, entertainment or celebration, is what makes the journey worthwhile.

As we continue to invest in the venue and expand what we offer, our goal remains the same: to make The Hideout Arena one of the leading event destinations in Bolton and Greater Manchester while continuing to support the people, businesses and communities that helped make it possible. The venue may have changed dramatically over the years, but the reason we built it has never changed.

The Future

The transformation of The Hideout Arena is far from complete.

What began as a vision to create a unique event venue in Bolton has grown into something far bigger than we ever imagined. With more than 100,000 visitors passing through our doors each year, we continue to invest in the venue, improve our facilities and expand the range of events and experiences we can offer.

While we are proud of everything that has been achieved so far, we firmly believe that the best chapters of The Hideout Arena's story are still ahead of us. The venue has already undergone an incredible transformation, but our ambition continues to grow with every event, every visitor and every opportunity that comes our way.

Our goal is not simply to become one of the leading event destinations in Greater Manchester. We want The Hideout Arena to become a recognised venue throughout the UK for sporting events, live entertainment, corporate conferences, exhibitions and community initiatives. By continually improving our facilities and expanding what we offer, we aim to provide experiences that exceed expectations and create lasting memories for everyone who visits.

The future will see continued investment across all areas of the venue. From improving customer facilities and hospitality spaces to enhancing event production capabilities and creating new opportunities for organisers, we remain committed to ensuring that The Hideout Arena continues to evolve alongside the needs of our visitors and clients.

We also remain committed to supporting local businesses, charities, sports clubs and community organisations. As the venue grows, we want that growth to benefit the wider community. By attracting more visitors to Farnworth and Bolton, supporting local suppliers and creating opportunities for partnerships and collaboration, we hope to play an increasingly important role in the area's future success.

The Hideout Arena will continue to provide a platform for aspiring athletes, event organisers, performers and entrepreneurs. Whether it's an up-and-coming boxer competing in front of a packed crowd, a local business hosting its first major conference, or a charity raising funds for an important cause, we want the venue to be a place where ambitions can be realised and opportunities can flourish.

Innovation will also play an important role in the future of The Hideout Arena. We are constantly exploring new event concepts, new partnerships and new ways to improve the visitor experience. By remaining adaptable and forward-thinking, we aim to ensure that the venue continues to stand out in an increasingly competitive events industry.

Most importantly, we will remain true to the vision that started it all. Creating a venue that brings people together. Creating opportunities for businesses and communities. Creating experiences that people remember long after the event has ended.

The future will see The Hideout Arena continue to evolve, welcome larger events, attract new audiences and create exciting opportunities, all while remaining rooted in the values that inspired its creation.

From warehouse to arena was only the beginning. The next chapter of The Hideout Arena is just getting started, and we cannot wait to see where the journey leads next.
